Experimenting with Depth of Field

Image
What worked well? Us finding what distance to put the tripod from the subjects went well, and we were the first group to finish. How did you edit your image? I tried to make both of my images stand out more from the background, and I found that the texture option helped bring detail to the in-focus subjects. What was your aperture set at? For both of the photos, we set it to its lowest setting-4.0 for snoopy and 5.0 for the truck. The aperture was different because we were zoomed in differently to better capture the image. How was your depth of field? Our depth of field was as shallow as possible for both images.

Aperture Assignment-Derek Ono and Ethan Cullen

fstop:22 fstop:20 fstop:18 fstop:16 fstop:14 fstop:13 fstop:10 fstop:8 fstop:5 fstop:3.5 1. What was your most successful image and why?     Our most successful image was our first image, with an fstop of 3.5. This photo had the lowest aperture, and it focused on our subject the most, as the background was most blurred, and you could tell which item was the focus of the picture easiest. 2. Which was your least successful image and why?     Our least successful image was our last image with the 22 fstop value, as it had most everything in focus, and it was very difficult to discern the subject from the image, as everything was sharp and seemed to be emphasized.

Before and After Editing

Questions 1. On a scale from 1-10, I would rate this process a 5, because some parts were easy to grasp, and others were more difficult. 2. One thing that changed my objects for the best was the camera raw filter, since I was able to put more emphasis on certain parts of the pictures in addition to cropping them.

Vacation Van

Image
For my van vacation, I decided to bring along my Spanish 3 teacher from last year, Sr. Tinetti. He could explain the lyrics of the Spanish-pop music we would be listening to on the way. The first passenger is my friend Mahad, who would entertain me along the way. In the backseat is my friend Johan, but there's a twist: he's a toddler. I would bring him and put him in charge of the snacks. And last but certainly not least, the middle passenger. If I'm being completely honest, I have no idea who he is, but he seems to be really chill. He could calm down everyone if we got in a heated debate.
